I’ve been reading Life and Society in the Hittite World by Trevor Bryce which is totally fascinating as I know little of that society and the book is really well-written. I want to get the companion history volume now, actually.

OMG. I thought I couldn’t be more excited about Return of the Condor Heroes. I was wrong. I dug around for a little bit of the plot (though please don’t spoil me, it’s one of rare things I want to watch unspoiled) and OMG, the love story is forbidden because she is his martial arts teacher. Just finished watching Hong Kong movie Legend of Speed about some risky street-racing. The movie itself is nothing to scream about from the rooftops though it's not bad at all for the type of movie it is: no pretentions to intellectual splendor or deep emotional truths.
